Recruiting for the Bear Olympics

Sandy is excited to be joining the Bear Olympics! There are all sorts of events and even some edible medals to be won... Sandy is hosting the Synchronized Staring event - but needs to come up with a team in order to enter. A team can be as small as two... so this should not prove difficult! Today, Sandy came across a bear who might be a possible candidate...
He's a very big bear... which is good to have on a team sometimes if you need strength. But he's not all that flexible... so not sure that he would be able to handle the Synchronized Sitting contest all that well! Plus... he doesn't live near Sandy so... photos would be difficult!
Nevertheless, Sandy was very happy to meet this bear! He's a kermode bear... one of the Spirit Bears from the west coast. Kermode bears are not polar bears but a white variant of the black bear. Which makes Sandy wonder why it's called a "black" bear if it comes in brown and cinnamon and cream and white??? Sometimes people make confusing names! This bear even has a picture of another bear on his belly...
It must be a baby bear because the teeth are not very sharp... but the claws certainly are!
No luck recruiting team members for the Olympics... yet!

  1. Mind you, there's always the Individual sports in the Olympics, like in gymnastics. Maybe you could do the Singles Staring Entry?

  2. You can always be part of our team Sandy! But then again, we're only two little bears. We like the idea of synchronized staring. Ben hopes for a medal in the nap (hibernating) competition. Hehe

  3. Thanks guys! I am going to do my beary best to get a team together... Mama thinks we might have to go digging in a trunk or two and pull some bears out of retirement. I wanted to go door-to-door in our neighbourhood but Mama is very busy right now and can't come and told me I am too young to go by myself. I hope these retired bears aren't too tired and fall asleep during events... although that may be a good thing for the Napping Competition!
